I have both Delphi7 Pro and BDS2006, where most of my work tends to still be done in Delphi 7.ĭoes Delphi 7 work correctly in Windows 7 圆4 or do I have to install the 32 bit version in order to work with Delphi 7? I am in the process of getting a new PC and these days there is a choice between 32 and 64 bit operating system (Win7). > I have a 32-bit Delphi 7 application which was deployed on some Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of those errors? Maybe any suggestion on what to check to find out the root cause of the problem? If the form containing those components is closed and opened again (or if the application is restarted), the problem does not reproduce. Second form (where "Error reading : Property Ch does not exist" occurs):

First form (where "Error reading : Invalid property value" occurs): I checked how those properties are declared on the form where the errors occurred, and all seems ok: "Error reading : Property Ch does not exist" (here the name "Charset" was apparently truncated to "Ch") The application occasionally displays errors such as: I have a 32-bit Delphi 7 application which was deployed on some machines with Windows 7 64-bit. Occasional errors with 32-bit Delphi 7 application on Windows 7 64-bit In the meantime, the ordinary double-click or Start [menu in earlier versions of Win I don't know how often this delphi32.$$$ has to be renamed, perhaps only once, perhaps every now and then, but now I know how to get around it if it happens again. I then exited Delphi 7, and tried to run Delphi 7 with an ordinary double-click on delphi32.exe. I opened the *Delphi7\Bin folder* in WindowsĮxplorer, selected *delphi32.exe*, *right-click then "Run as administrator"* and the error message didn't appear (ie. By right-clicking on the Delphi item in the "Processes" tab (what used to be called the "Applications" tab in earlier versions of Windows) and clicking on "Go to details" (what I think used to be called "Go to process" in earlier versions of Windows) it led my straight to the process responsible (delphi32.exe). While the error message was still visible I checked Task Manager to see what processes were running.

I encountered the *same issue on Windows 8 64bit*.
